General Eye Screening
Regular eye screening plays an important role in maintaining long-term eye health, even in the absence of symptoms. Some eye conditions may develop gradually without noticeable changes in vision, particularly in the early stages.
A comprehensive eye screening allows for the assessment of vision, eye pressure and overall eye health, and may help detect early signs of common eye conditions such as refractive errors, glaucoma and retinal changes.
This screening package is designed for individuals aged 18 and above and provides a structured evaluation of both the front and back of the eye.
At Claris Eye Centre, eye screening is conducted using a combination of clinical assessment and diagnostic testing, with results reviewed by an ophthalmologist.
What is Included in the Screening Package
This general eye screening package includes the following assessments:
$250*

Consultation with Ophthalmologist
A clinical consultation is conducted to review your eye health, symptoms (if any) and relevant medical history. Findings from the screening tests are explained, and recommendations are provided.
Visual Acuity (Distance and Near)
This test measures how clearly you can see at both distance and near, and helps detect refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia or presbyopia.
Ishihara Colour Vision Test
This test assesses colour vision and screens for colour vision deficiencies, which may be congenital or acquired.
Refraction by Optometrist
A detailed refraction test is performed to determine your most accurate spectacle prescription for optimal visual clarity.
Tonometry (Intraocular Eye Pressure)
This test measures the pressure inside the eye. Elevated intraocular pressure may be associated with glaucoma and requires further assessment.
Slit Lamp Examination of the Anterior Segment
A slit lamp examination allows detailed evaluation of the front structures of the eye, including the cornea, lens and eyelids. This helps detect conditions such as dry eye, cataracts and ocular surface abnormalities.
*Fees include consultation and the tests listed above. Additional tests or treatments, if required, will be advised separately.
Who Should Consider Eye Screening?
General eye screening may be suitable for:
- Individuals aged 18 and above
- Those who have not had a recent eye examination
- Individuals with prolonged screen use y
- Anyone experiencing mild visual symptoms or eye discomfort
Regular screening supports early detection and monitoring of eye health.
What Can Eye Screening Detect?
A comprehensive eye screening may help identify:
- Refractive errors (e.g. myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism)
- Sign of glaucoma
- Cataract changes
- Retinal abnormalities
- Retinal abnormalities
- Ocular surface conditions such as dry eye
Further evaluation may be recommended if abnormalities are detected.
