Comprehensive Eye Screening

Regular eye screening plays an important role in maintaining long-term eye health, even in the absence of symptoms. Some eye conditions may develop gradually without noticeable changes in vision, particularly in the early stages.

A comprehensive eye screening provides a more detailed evaluation of the eye, including assessment of the optic nerve, retina, lens status and visual function. This allows for early detection of eye conditions that may affect long-term vision.

This screening package is designed for individuals aged 18 and above and provides a structured evaluation of both the front and back of the eye.

At Claris Eye Centre, eye screening is conducted using a combination of clinical assessment and diagnostic testing, with results reviewed by an ophthalmologist.

What is Included in the Screening Package

This comprehensive screening package includes the following assessments:

Consultation with Ophthalmologist

A clinical consultation to review your eye health, symptoms and risk factors. Results from all tests are explained, with personalised recommendations provided.

Visual Acuity (Distance and Near)

Assessment of how clearly you can see at both distance and near, helping detect refractive errors and changes in vision.

Visual Field Test

This test evaluates your peripheral (side) vision and is important in detecting early changes associated with glaucoma and other optic nerve conditions.

Ocular motility and fixation check

Assesses eye alignment, coordination, and tracking ability.

Ishihara Colour Vision Test

Screens for colour vision deficiencies, which may be congenital or related to optic nerve conditions.

Refraction by Optometrist

A detailed refraction test to determine your most accurate spectacle prescription.

Tonometry (Intraocular Eye Pressure)

Measurement of eye pressure, an important parameter in assessing the risk of glaucoma.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) – Macula and Optic Disc

OCT is a non-invasive imaging test that provides detailed cross-sectional images of the retina and optic nerve.

It is useful in detecting:

Slit Lamp Examination

A detailed examination of the front structures of the eye, including the cornea, lens and anterior segment.

This helps detect conditions such as cataracts, dry eye and other ocular surface abnormalities.

Retinal Fundus Examination (Including Peripheral Retina)

A comprehensive examination of the retina, including the peripheral retina. This allows detection of:

Fundus Photography

Takes detailed images of the back of the eye (retina) for assessment and monitoring.

*Fees include consultation and the tests listed above. Additional tests or treatments, if required, will be advised separately.
